A novel synthetic method of cyclodextrin with porphyrin was established. This method was applicable to α-,β-cyclodextrins. The carbon NMR spectrum has provided a evidence in confirmation of appending porphyrin to the 2-position of secondary hydroxy group of a cyclodextrin.
