Following the recent omission of knitting from home economics studies, its validity was examined from the aspect of consciousness and actual situation of the junior high students and the university students aiming to obtain license for home economics teaching. The results were as follows:
(1) Junior high students who experienced knitting the acrylic scrubbing brush workwere able to feel progress in their crochet skills along with the sense of enjoyment and accomplishment.
(2) Estimated from the number of chain stitches accomplished by the university students, their crochet skills were not up to the standard for teaching. However, progress was observed after a short practice adopting motion analysis of the finger/hands.
(3) As a result, it can be concluded that knitting is one of the appropriate studying and learning experience for hand-making studies in which junior high students can feel the effect of learning and improve their skills through shortpractice.
