Since a zero-power magnetic suspension system behaves as if it has a negative stiffness, infinite stiffness against disturbances on the isolation table can be achieved by combining it with a normal spring. It enables the system to have good characteristics in both the performances of isolation from ground and suppression of direct vibration. An analytical study shows that the proposed system has infinite stiffness against disturbances on the isolation table.
