 note = {The land subsidence in Japan has been a social problem since the end of the 1940's. At present,it is brought under control through measures such as legal regulations of groundwater exploitation and switchover of groundwater resource to surface ones, against their causes. The paper introduces an application of groundwater resource management method to attain the harmonization between the demands of water and nature in hydrological cycle. Success of the method is realized by the concepts on safe exploitation, compatible scaling of basin, and integrated planning suitable to groundwater monitoring. The methodology of the management itself can be applied to settle various problems on groudwater environment protection as well., rights: 社団法人地盤工学会
