The skin friction is reduced by filling space between caisson wall and soil with boulder. Therefore, SS caisson can be sinking by own weight. The skin friction of SS caisson is smaller, but it cannot be quantitatively estimated. So, model tests were carried out to know the tendency of skin friction.
