Most firm idices, especially sales per employee and sales per shop area have correlations with imput prices e.g. average salary, and also with the ratio of food sales in total turnover. Seemingly evident economy of scale might be, therefore, from a mixed effect of expensive input and non-food oriented store format. In store indices, we met strong discontinuity nearby 3 billion yen in the annual sales level, beyond which the economy of scale becomes ambiguous. Many shops just under the discontinuity exhibit excellent performance, suggesting that they enjoy competitor-free position owing to the Daiten-Ho (Large-Retailer Law)., text, application/pdf}, pages = {13--38}, title = {流通の効率性指標に関する実証分析(承前)}, volume = {88}, year = {1996}, yomi = {ナミカワ, ヒサシ} }
