Faculty of Education}, month = {}, note = {In this study, we carried out a wearing of Yukata learning experience in the general learning classes at a junior high school. We analyzed the effects of learning "a taste of Japanese" involving wearing of Yukata. Although there were many tasks to solve before conducting the class, such as preparing the Yukata and arranging instructions for the wearing of Yukata, the visiting lecturer's participation was effective in decreasing the teacher's burden and time consumption, and helped constitute a more extensive lesson. It can be concluded that our efforts to incorporate activities that focused not only on the wearing of Yukata but also on “a taste of Japanese” experience led to the enhancement of interest towards kimono and feelings for wearing a kimono after the lesson. Through the experience of Yukata dressing, while they found it difficult to dress and knot the bows, the students seemed to have enjoyed the feelings of elation and the change of impression, and also felt that the restricted tightness of the Kimono in moving and walking brought about such benefits as elegant gestures and better postures.
