 note = {埼玉大学社会調査研究センターがアニュアルで実施する「さいたま市民 : 政治に関する意識調査 (郵送調査)  」の結果を概観する。8年間の推移を確認すると、とりわけコミュニケーションのあり様の変化が顕著であった。スマートフォン保有者の急増というデバイスの変化は、ツールのレベルにはとどまらず、コミュニケーション・スタイルの変容、情報源の転換、さらに、ライフ・スタイルそのものの変質をも引き起こすに至っている。しかも、現今の社会の変容は、若者よりも中高年が担い手となっている。
　政治意識に関しては、一貫して、政治不満や政治家不信の高さが目立った。ただ、表面的には一様な現象も、年齢による相違が見受けられる。政治への不満は、若者で低く中高年で高い。これに対し、政治家への不信では、逆に、若者で高く年齢が上がるにつれて低くなる「若高－老低」構図が存在した。わけても、18歳～29歳の最若年層は、政治への不満が低いにもかかわらず政治家不信は非常に高いという、やや不可解な特徴を示していた。一方、内閣支持率についても、「若高－老低」型が存在する。政治家不信と安倍内閣支持とが両立する若者の心性の背後には、どのような位相が介在しているのだろうか。

This report presents an overview of the results of the “Saitama residents: Survey on Political Consciousness (postal survey)”, conducted annually by the Saitama University Social Survey Research Center. Looking at the changes over an eight-year period, changes at the device level, namely the rapid increase in smartphone ownership, have not only resulted in an exchange of tools, but have also transformed the style of communication, improved information sources, and altered the quality of people’s lifestyles. Furthermore, these social changes have been dominated by older people rather than the younger generation.
In terms of political consciousness, there was a consistently high level of political dissatisfaction and distrust of politicians. Political dissatisfaction is low among the youth and high among middle-aged and older people. Conversely, distrust of politicians is high among the youth and is lower among older people, resulting in a “young high-old low” pattern. The youngest age group aged 18 to 29 years have an extremely high level of distrust of politicians despite low political dissatisfaction. On the other hand, there is also a “young high-old low” pattern in the cabinet approval rating.
