 note = {精神的（文化的）シオニズムの提唱者，アハド・ハアムが1891 年に執筆した論考「エレツ・イスラエルからの真実」は，シオニズム研究において頻繁に引用される文献の一つである．その主な理由は，この論考がいわゆる「アラブ問題」，つまりパレスチナにおけるユダヤ人とアラブ人との確執についての分析を含む最初の文献として重視されてきたことにあるだろう．そのため，これまでこの論考に関する言及のうちの大半が「アラブ問題」に関連するものであって，論考全体についてはあまり考察の対象とされてこなかった．そこで本稿では，A・ダウティによる英訳版（全訳）および解説文を用いて，まずこの論考の全体像を概観し，そのなかでの「アラブ問題」の位置付けを確認した上で，このテーマに関するアハド・ハアムの見解について再考することを目指した．また，解説文中に見られる「アラブ問題はこの論考の主な関心事ではなかった」，というダウティの主張について検討することも一つの目標とした．
　考察の結果，「アラブ問題」が論考全体に占める比率は極めて低いことがわかった．また当時のアハド・ハアムの態度に幾分，曖昧な点が認められることから，ダウティの主張には一定の妥当性があるということを認めるに至った．一方で，彼の主張がこの論考における「アラブ問題」についての記述の重要性まで否定する根拠とはならず，ここでのアハド・ハアムの見解は，その先見性，的確さにおいて高く評価されるべきであるということを再確認した．また，のちにアラブ人との平和的共存を目指したユダヤ人たち，特にM・ブーバー，J・マグネス等のバイナショナリストたちに彼が与えた影響を考慮しても，この論考の持つ意義は大きいという結論に至った．
　
　The essay “Truth from Eretz Yisrael”, written in 1891 by Ahad Ha'am, an advocate of spiritual (or cultural) Zionism, is one of the most frequently cited references in Zionist studies, because this essay has been regarded as the first analysis of the so-called “the Arab issue,” i.e., the conflict between Jews and Arabs in Palestine. For this reason, most of the references to this essay have been related to the “the Arab issue,” and the essay as a whole has not been the subject of much discussion. This paper, therefore, aims to review the entirety of the essay, confirm the position of the “the Arab issue” in it, and reconsider Ahad Ha'am's views on the subject, using the English translation by Alan Dowty (the complete translation) and the commentary. Another goal of this paper is to examine Dowty's assertion which is found in the commentary, that “the Arab issue” was not “the main concern” of this essay.
　As a result of this study, I confirmed that the “the Arab issue” accounts for a very small percentage of the total and that there were some ambiguities in Ahad Ha’am’s attitude towards Arabs in this essay. Judging from the points mentioned above, I have come to accept that Dowty’s assertion has a certain validity. On the other hand, I argue that his comment is not the basis for denying even the significance of Ahad Ha’am’s statements at the time, and that Ahad Ha’am’s view on “the Arab issue” in this essay should be highly evaluated for its foresight and precision. I also emphasize the influence of this essay on the Jews who tried to find the ways to achieve peaceful co-existence with Arab inhabitants, especially bi-nationalists such as M. Buber and J.
