The error generating mechanism of mobile devices\u0027 positioning for location based services (LBS) is explained as three layer\u0027s consideration, that is, applications as the upper layer, mobile device platforms as the middle layer, and sub-platforms as the lower layer, such as the GPS, Wi-Fi, and mobile phone base-stations. Actual positioning data are also introduced.
