| 内容記述 | 日常的に接触する新聞・報道番組の内容が党派性を帯びる場合、利用者の政治意識に対して長期的な影響をおよぼすと考えられる。あるいは、もとより有権者が自身の党派性に沿うマスメディアに対して選択的に接触する場合、彼の党派性が強化されると思われる。この結果として、政治意識の分極化や意見の異なる他者への排斥傾向が強化されるならば、マスメディアが招く分極化を迎えた社会での政治参加は、他者に不寛容な市民同士の相克の場と化すかも知れない。この懸念の現実性を考察する本稿は、「マスメディアが党派性を帯びているならば、どのような特徴ある有権者が各メディアに接触しているか」という観点より選択的接触の実態を解明する。そのため、2019 年参議院選挙時に全国の有権者を対象として行われたインターネットでの2 波のパネル世論調査を分析する。分析の結果は、おおむね「自民党支持者は読売新聞・日本テレビとの接触を選好する一方、逆に朝日新聞・テレビ朝日との接触を回避する」という予想に沿う。 When voters are steadily exposed to mass media such as newspapers or news shows that demonstrate partisanship, their political opinions may be affected. If voters select newspapers and news shows that favor their own political faction, the level of their partisanship will often increase. Furthermore, if political opinions become more polarized among voters, and if they become more committed to the exclusion of those with different political opinions, conflict may ensue between factions within such a politically polarized society that stems from partisan mass media. In response to the threat of social division, this article paints a picture of selective exposure to mass media in terms of profiling of those who engage in this kind of selective exposure. As a means of analysis, the online nationwide panel survey on the last Upper House election was used. The results indicate that supporters of the Liberal Democratic Party would, as predicted, opt to receive news from the Yomiuri newspaper and follow news shows on Nippon Television, tending to avoid the Asahi newspaper and news shows on TV-Asahi. |
